Mike has been involved in the funeral business for over 25 years, being a licensed funeral director for over 21 years. He is licensed in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and New York and is a Maryland Courtesy Card Holder. He is also a CANA certified crematory operator. Mike graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Empire State College. He was the Licensed Director and Manager of the former Baker Funeral Home for over four years, and now, along with his wife Gina, have been the owners and operators of the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a family owned and family operated business since 2007. Mike and Gina have three children and are residents of Nokesville, VA.  He is a Notary in the State of Virginia; a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Manassas where he has served as a Trustee, and a member of the Rotary Club of Manassas where he has served as the Secretary and on their foundation board; he has also served as a Board Member of Historic Manassas, Inc, and held an appointment to the Manassas Business Council. “I know the importance of the work I’ve chosen. I’m just grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given, and know that they have led me to where we are today."

Gina has walked alongside Mike in his career path since the very beginning; in fact, they were high school sweethearts. Gina works very hard at balancing the job of being a funeral home owner and the care of their three children, Connor, Ellie and Jackson. Today, they continue to build on their foundation of commitment by serving the families of Manassas as independent funeral professionals.

Richard is the father-in-law of Michael Post. He has an associate degree in business management, and has over 32 years of management experience, 9 of which was served as the Vice-president of Clinical Services of Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY.
He has been a resident of the City of Manassas since 2003, working as a funeral assistant, a registered intern in the State of Virginia, and now a Virginia Licensed Funeral Director. He is a 2010 graduate of John Tyler Community College, and is also a CANA certified crematory operator, a Notary in the State of Virginia, and a member of the Manassas Host Lions Club and Grace United Methodist Church. “One needs to truly care for those in their time of grief. I believe Funeral Directors are born, and not made.” Richard has been married to his wife Diane for over 42 years, and has three daughters and six grandchildren. In his spare time, he is an active member of the Manassas Host Lions Club where he serves as the Lion Tamer and 2nd Vice-President. He also enjoys watching his favorite professional sporting teams: the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals and the Buffalo Sabres.

The Baker-Post family is very fortunate to have Michael Ward, and his tremendous experience in the funeral industry serve as licensed funeral director with our family owned and operated funeral home. Mike was born and raised in Petersburg, Virginia, and is a 1975 graduate of John Tyler Community College in Chester, Virginia where he received an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science. He has been a licensed funeral director in Virginia for over 39 years and is also a CANA certified crematory operator. Mike was a resident of the City of Manassas for over 12 years, working at the former Lee Funeral Home. He also serves as Notary Public in the State of Virginia, and his interests include spending time with his two sons, one grandson, playing the drums, and supporting the Chicago Bears. “I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of a funeral home where families really do matter most”

Robert B. "Bobby" Jenkins, Sr., Licensed Funeral Service Intern

Born in Fairfax, VA, and raised in Manasas, Bobby is a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School.  He brings over 25 years of funeral service experience to the Baker-Post Funeral Home, and is currently a Licensed Funeral Service Intern in the State of Virginia.  He and his wife Sandra live in the City of Manassas and have been married for 28 years. They have three children, Bruce, Mikey, and Amanda, and in his free time, Bobby enjoys fishing, playing and coaching softball, and spending time with his two grandsons, Brayden and Luke.

Connor is 18 and a 2017 graduate of Osbourn High School. He is currently enrolled and attending Lord Fairfax Community College in Warrenton, VA. He is also a Licensed Funeral Service Intern in the State of Virginia.  "I understand how important the funeral industry is and feel very proud to be a part of a business and a family that serves our community in such a important way."

Diane Merlo, Funeral Assistant

Standing alongside the other members of the family who serve others under the eaves of the Baker-Post Funeral Home is our wonderful funeral assistant of over seven years, Diane. She works with her daughter, Gina, and son-in-law, Michael – as well as her husband, Richard. Complementing the strengths of those around her with her faith and compassion, Diane helps families to shoulder the burden of their loss. “I’m here to make their journey just a bit easier.”

Jason Wilsher, Funeral Assistant

Serving as a funeral assistant, Jason brings his unique skills and perspectives to bear in every situation. We are pleased to have him as part of the staff, as are the families he serves. “I came to funeral service without fully realizing how powerful this vocation is; serving families in their most difficult time is both emotionally-satisfying, and spiritually-rewarding.”
He is a graduate of Osbourn High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, having been awarded his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. Jason, his wife, Mary, and their three children are Manassas natives. When Jason is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing and singing in the praise band at church.
